Well, hello! My name is Delina Patrice Brooks. I'm a San Francisco / Oakland-bred, award-winning multi-hyphenate. After writing and recording music with the late Shock G of the iconic hip-hop group Digital Underground, he gave me the nickname "DelinaDream"... and it just kinda stuck :)
In 2006, I founded DelinaDream Productions, where I write and produce plays, screenplays and songs about troubled women who save themselves. I've also studied African dance for many years and performed across the U.S., Western Europe, West Africa and the Philippines; and on Television & Film. My deep roots as a Bay Area artist led me to gain extensive experience as a Facilitator, Grant-Writer and Consultant for individual artists, small businesses, non-profit organizations and more. The victories (and challenges!) of my personal and career experience is steadied by a deliberate calling to build a life that feels like home to my soul. And now, I'm called to share this soulful blueprint with YOU! I invite you to join us at The 5-Point Compass Academy to gather practical and holistic tools to help navigate your creative process, career climb and life's inevitable pain points. May we all move in our light, with courage, vitality and ease. ~DelinaDream |

The above is the original trailer for Bare Soles Bare Soul (BSBS), a 4-part docuseries of intimate portraits which highlight the impact of African Dance on Black women in Oakland, CA. The women in the series reveal that their dance practice allows them to improve upon of a primary struggle: self-preservation. And therein lies the gem of BSBS. With dignity and vulnerability, these women maintain that they’ve practiced African dance for more than fifteen years each, in order to maintain their sense of balance, dignity and purpose beyond studio – in their homes, workplace, community and beyond.
